Review Methodology
How a VlogsMedia review is put together, and what our verdicts are based on.
This page describes exactly how our reviews are made, so you can weigh them properly.
We research; we do not run a test lab
VlogsMedia does not operate a laboratory and does not claim to. We do not buy every product we write about, and we will never tell you we handled something when we did not. What we do is read the evidence that already exists, carefully and at volume, and turn it into a decision a reader can act on.
What we read
- Verified buyer reviews at scale. Not the best or worst one, but the themes that recur across hundreds of them ??? and particularly what owners say after several months, where durability problems appear.
- Independent testing published by others. Consumer bodies, laboratories and reviewers who do run controlled tests, cited for what they measured.
- Manufacturer documentation. Specifications, materials, warranty terms and care instructions ??? useful for facts, and treated as marketing wherever it makes a claim.
- Owner communities. Forums and groups where people who already own the thing discuss living with it.
How a review is structured
Every VlogsMedia review leads with a verdict in one sentence, then answers the only two questions that matter: who should buy this, and who should not. The reasoning follows underneath, along with the specifications, the recurring themes from owners, the alternatives worth weighing, and the questions readers actually ask.
Why there is no score
We do not rate products out of ten. A single number flattens the one thing that decides a purchase ??? whether a product suits you specifically. A set of speakers that is wrong for a small room is not ???7.4 out of 10???; it is wrong for a small room and right for a larger one. So we say that instead.
It also means nothing on this site can be mistaken for a rating we did not actually form.
Prices and availability
We avoid printing live prices, because a stale price is worse than none. Where we name a price it is described as what we saw and when. Always check with the retailer before buying.
Commercial links
Some of our links earn a commission. They are marked on the page and tagged so search engines can see what they are. Commission plays no part in what we recommend. See the affiliate disclosure.
